Location: Lytton Road off-ramp of the Gateway Motorway Sir Leo Hielscher Bridge Southport. Click on this link: Interactive map

Bump In: 5:30am

First Elite Wheel Event to Start: 6:00am

Last Walkers to leave: 8:30amam

Road Reopens: 9:30am

Best way to get there: (Coming from the north side) The south bank lanes of the Gateway Bridge will be closed from 5am. Alternative bridges that will get you across the river are the Story Bridge, William Jolly Bridge, Captain Cook Bridge and Victoria Bridge.

(Coming from the south side) There are no major road closures from the southside of Brisbane. Road closures at immediate start line will be reflected on Google Maps and Waze.

Parking options: There is no onsite parking for the 10km start line. Best parking location is on the eastern side of Lytton Rd or Paringa Rd (highlighted in yellow below). Please see below the Vehicle Parking Access Form. This MUST be filled out by the 1st September so email you a pass to print out for your vehicle prior to the event.

COURSE VANTAGE POINT SUGGESTIONS 

Location 1: We recommend the best view points to runners on the course are between the 6km mark to the 7km mark please see interactive map interactive map

We believe this location will give you great shots of the river and if they place themselves right the bridge in the background.  Please also see the different entertainment acts out on course.

Bump in: runners will be on course between 6:30am-10:30am

You will not have access to drive along Kingsford Smith Drive but you can access to the Northern Streets to park and walk across to the runners lanes which is on the inbound lanes.

Location 2. O’Connell Terrace past GATE 5  as people head down into the finish village.  Access would be via Campbell St.

Bump in: please arrive by 9am

Performance time: 8am-10am

Bump out: 10:15am

Best way to get there: (For access from the north side of Brisbane) Your best option is to follow the green detour which begins at Lomandra Drive, Sugarload Road, Holt Street, Curtin Avenue East, Fision Avenue West and finally MacArthur Avenue.

(For access from the south side of Brisbane) Your best option is to also follow the green detour by crossing the Gateway Bridge (Northbound) and take exit 105 and turn right onto Kingsford Smith Drive, right onto Holt Street and finally MacArthur Avenue. Enter Hercules Street Park in google maps or Waze and it will give you the best route.

Parking: There is no onsite parking available at the 5km start line. This means that we unfortunately we cannot provide you with a reserved parking spot on the morning of the event. Your best option is to park on the Western End of Macarthur Avenue (as shown below).

Site Rules

  • Please ensure that public safety is paramount at all times
  • Any marquees self-erected on site must have enough weights in place for safety. Pegging into the grassed area or tying off surrounds objects is NOT allowed. If marquees are not secured, event organisers will ask for them to be removed. If you do not have weights, please contact the event organisers to arrange hire of weights.
  • You are responsible for providing your own electrical leads and ensuring they have up to date test and tagging compliance. Power will only be available to those who have requested and pre-arranged with the event organisers.
  • Security will be onsite overnight, however, we take no responsibility for any property left on the premises
  • Please ensure where possible you practice the best environmentally sustainable practices with reducing waste, reusing where possible and recycling recyclable produces into the recycling bins
  • Please ensure your activation team bring their own reusable water bottles, there will be a Hydration Station available in the venue
  • Please ensure you provide appropriate safety items for your activation staff including sunscreen, hats, ponchos, hand sanitiser, masks, etc
  • When bumping out it is your responsibility to ensure that all equipment used is packed away and rubbish is disposed of in the appropriate manner.

Medical

  • Medical staff will be onsite during the Event Day activities.  Should your staff or any participants require medical assistance please report to the 1300Medics tent or advise one of the EMS Australia staff.

  • If you need medical assistance outside during bump in please contact the venue manager or if it’s an emergency please call 000.

Suspicious Behaviour

  • In the unlikely event of any suspicious behaviour please alert EMS Australia team as soon as possible or the nearest security team member.
    1. Suspicious behaviour can be from the participants or the general public, and can be anything from a bag or backpack left unattended or wearing a large jacket in warm weather or even a person acting irritated.
    2. If you find an unattended bag/backpack
      1. Ask if anyone owns it
      2. If no one does, do not touch it
      3. Alert others to keep away
      4. Contact the venue coordinator as soon as possible and they will alert the appropriate people.
